Explanations
Kindergarten Foundation
Level 1
is the first part of the Kindergarten Certificate course being an introduction
to Colourstrings and Solfa an instruction for teaching children up to the age of
four years. It consists of a 5 day intensive course exploring the Singing
Rascals material, a variety of repertoire suitable for babies up to four years,
child psychology, principles for lesson planning and daily Kodaly musicianship
training. To qualify for the Colourstrings Associate teacher Certificate,
students must then attend
Workshops (usually
three weekends) to develop and deepen the skills learnt on the foundation/Summer
School courses and study Solfa up to intermediate level.
These two courses together with the written assignments and practical assessment
are the requirements for the 'Colourstrings Associate Teacher Certificate
Kindergarten'.
Please contact us if you would like a copy of the prospectus for the certificate course.
Level Two A five day course which together with the written work qualifies for the 'Musicianship Level Two Certificate' for working with children in the age range 5 – 7 years.
Kindergarten Development days are refresher workshops to help teachers build on their skills and develop new repertoire.
Summer Course is the annual international teacher training course offering Colourstrings teacher training in Kindergarten, Strings, Piano and Flute.
